22nd March 2009 (Night Prayer)
My dear ones,
Teach love to your children. Love is the only way. I speak of holy love – love which is pure – a selfless and giving love with no hidden agendas. Look to 1Corinthians 13. Love is the answer. Look to the command Jesus gave to His disciples. “Love one another as I have loved you.” Look to the meaning of these words. Jesus loved by giving himself completely for the salvation of mankind. Jesus loved all. He did not choose only the easy. He loved those who were shunned and rejected by their communities. Let the love you show be in your actions. You have been commissioned to go out as missionary servants of God’s love to feed the poor, shelter the homeless, visit the sick and imprisoned. Jesus told the disciples that the amount of love they measured out would be the amount they were given. Do not want the easy path and pick and choose who to love. Holy love has boundaries and is not abusive or taking. It does not keep record of wrongs. Teach your children well. To those who are given much more will be expected of them. Show others the love of God by the way you live your lives. Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your mind, with all your soul and with all your strength and love your neighbour as you love yourself. Love the person not their thoughtless actions. Create unbreakable circles of love in your families and let these circles expand and flow out to all who are put in your path. Put the love of God first and all you need will be given to you. Do not seek material and worldly rewards; seek only rewards which are everlasting – seek life eternal.
