8th April 2009 (Afternoon Prayer)
My dear children,
I am with you in your time of need. Do not doubt my presence. I was with my Son Jesus as He climbed the steep hill of Calvary. I stood at the foot of the cross and watched as my Son suffered and died for the sins of all mankind. Jesus is your Messiah. He has broken the chain of sin. Mankind has not learned the lessons of God’s merciful love. He gave His Son Jesus as merciful Saviour to bring to birth a New Covenant of love. You have heard the words in Scripture that if the disciples remained silent the stones would cry out. Do not be afraid to stand up for your faith. Look to the saints who have gone before you. Many have been martyred for their faith. They willingly gave their lives because of their love for God and love for His Son Jesus. They were true witnesses of their faith. Imitate the saints by stepping out boldly in faith by your witness of God’s love. It is not necessary to speak many words. Live your life as a witness to God’s love by the love you give. Give of yourself in a self giving way – this is agape love. The saints embraced agape love. Give without expecting reward. Do not doubt the power of God’s love in your life. Be prepared to surrender completely to the Will of God. Look to the prayer spoken in Gethsemane by Jesus. He prayed to His Father to let this cup pass him by but let it not be his will but the Will of his Father in Heaven. Take time in this holy week to contemplate God’s Will in your life. Be prepared to change the old and to embrace the new. Pray the words “here I am Lord I come to do your will”.
